I'd be terrified to be wasted in public. I don't even like being drunk around people I know. I don't even like being drunk anymore. I'd be afraid that someone would drop something in my drink, or trick me, or follow me or something. I'm just not into that scuzzy business; I don't like being around people I don't know - especially in the presence of alcohol. I assume it's less scary for men (for reasons that I don't have energy to explain, not that it's relevant in this thread anyway). Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't see the "fun" in the bar scene. I much prefer a slow-burning night with half a bottle of wine and a maximum of one other person in my vicinity.
