It could be possible that people think what was played in the early days of Punk as the same as hardcore punk and Nazi punk a decade later but it's not. Punk wasn't a interruption but a continuation of Garage Rock, and Glam Rock before it. I've always said punk rock was just an evolution of the same old rock of the 50s and 60s, just cranked up a few notches. That's what makes it so great, is it's simplicity.
