This war has a clear winner for me.

I like both of the albums. Both are interesting hybrids but are very different. The Abyssal album combines several metal genres cohesively. The Dephosphorus album combines 80s thrash/hardcore vocals with more current metal trends. On paper that makes Dephosphorus look pretty good. It's almost like a more metal version of SOD, and maybe that's what they are, but for me it gets old well before the album is over.

I prefer the more classic blackened death/doom styling of Abyssal.
