I think you are over exaggerating just a tad.

Like I said, it only takes a few seconds, and most new members aren't going to be thinking "Well I wonder if this person is saying hi just to say that he or she did," They'll be instead thinking, "Hey, that person welcomed me! He or she was nice to do that."

That's at least how I see it.

LEAVE ME BE. Really, I know you are trying to get me to respond to you in some type of way, because if you kept reading you, you would have realized what I meant by that.
