Finished this a week ago, I thought I'd jump into HP Lovecraft with this book because of little knowledge of Call of Cthulu. Really exhilarating short story, the hotel portion had me pretty tense throughout.

I'm only a few chapters in this one, Cage always struck me as asexual, but oh god he was quite the opposite. He really was like a kid with his head up in the clouds though from what I've read so far.

Probably one of the more interesting sci-fi works I've read. I'm not exactly finished though, but I'm only a chapter away from finishing it. I really like this book's take on what would possibly happen if an alien civilization were to visit us. We always view aliens as having humanistic qualities, but what if they didn't even take notice to us? This novel poses such ego destroying concepts, dabbles in a bit of xenology, mind bending consequences of the visitation of an alien civilization, and lots of drinking (It was written by Russians, so of course there is nothing but drinking).
