Nile Rodgers worked on something like 7 of the top 10 selling albums of 84 or 85 (I forget exactly which) including Madonna, Bowie, Duran Duran, Power Station, INXS, pretty much a who's who of that era.
Hell he worked with Daft Punk & Pharrell last year and they were 2 of the biggest selling artists of the past 12 months.

This is his recognition right there, I really don't know why you invest so much attention to some award ceremony nobody really gives a flying fuck about.
