Honestly, all jokes aside, I think it is a necessary, natural part of friendship. Being able to banter back and forth in a way that's audible to others lets the world know that these people are close enough that what would cause a fight between others doesn't concern them. Completely agree. I have a couple close friends at work and we just mess with each other to, in a way, get through the hardships of the work day. It works wonders and we always share a good laugh.
