I'm not being protective, and looking at it I see strictly rap albums are on a decline. I still stand by what I said that rap has a greater influence than ever before. It's just different now. It's not gangster rap anymore, it's HipPop as some underground artists would say. Like I said, different package, same basic qualities.
Maybe my memory is shot but I don't recall rapping being part of any genre other than rap/R&B prior to the past 10-15 years. There might have been some random collaborations, but certainly not to the extent of today. If you can give me some examples to jog my memory I'm open about to hear your side, I just don't remember things that way.
