I dig some Einstürzende Neubauten, Muslimgauze, Throbbing Gristle, La Monte Young, Nurse With Wound (and the NWW List), but my racing-thoughts and ADHD-mind delight more in Berlin School ambient synth music than in grating noise.
I prefer Alvin Lucier's Music on a Long Thin Wire to Young's Poem for Chairs, Tables and Benches.
Just the same, I've spun Trout Mask and Metal Machine Music on repeat for entire evenings while writing. Some albums just set a great atmosphere for the mind.
EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot - I constructed a noise multimedia piece called 5'50" of Pop which simultaneously played the music videos for all 100 songs from my former retail hell's MUZAK station.
