And it doesn't take a genius to figure out what other words come from the Greek word pharmakeia. It's the root word for pharmaceuticals. So the reason it translates to witchcraft or sorcery is because all throughout history, potions and herbs and things like that have shown up in sorcery and in witchcraft, which are the ancient equivalent of what we know today as drugs.
