ya this is how most people do it anyway. tipping doesn't even work like its supposed to. you go, calculate youre standard % and pay that regardless. if a waitor is pure garbage few people will actually not tip as intended, so whats the point. just standardize the whole thing already.
I just don't want the service to be terrible. I don't give a damn about the server knowing my name or that junk. and if you do or get an outstanding server, feel free to tip on top of the included gratuity.
