I'm with grindy - that I usually consider it a blessing to NOT understand the lyrics. As E515 and others have said, the singing then becomes like an extra, mysterious instrument. That's got to be good, right?
I also agree with Janszoon - that in general, I prefer singers to stick to their native language. As well as non-English speakers hoping for commercial success, l don't usually like it when English speakers drop in a line or two of some poorly pronounced foreign language either. Guilty of this are Beatles (Michelle) and Dylan (Romance in Durango).
