The way I see it, calling NIN industrial is like calling O'Douls regular beer. Sure it's got .5% alcohol, but calling it anything other than non alcoholic beer is just deceiving yourself. There are more prominent genres in NIN's music to refer to them as an industrial band, even if they have some elements of that in their work.

Hey man, cool to have your opinion about it, and I'm fine to agree to disagree with you about it haha. Trent Reznor hates (to my knowledge) Pop music, but there's plenty of NIN music that has Pop influence. Prominent genres? I agree there are a lot of different sounds going on in NIN music at least.
