Weekend of August 28 -30, 2015
1. Straight Outta Compton - $13,240,000 - $134,126,000 - 3rd Weekend
Seriously, WTF? I know it barely has any competition for the top spot, but how has it not been dethroned at this point?
2. War Room - $11,000,000 - $11,000,000 - 1st Weekend
From the quick research I did, this is one of those feel good Christian movies along the lines of Fireproof and Courageous. These are impressive numbers for such a film.
3. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $8,300,000 - $170,387,000 - 5th Weekend
This movie is clearly following the philosophy of the slow and steady winning the race.
4. No Escape - $8,288,000 - $10,349,000 - 1st Weekend
Judging by the poster, this looks like some semi-serious action comedy with Owen Wilson in it. I'll gladly pass.
5. Sinister 2 - $4,650,000 - $18,512,000 - 2nd Weekend
Not a bad drop.
6. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $4,410,000 - $34,122,000 - 3rd Weekend
This movie is starting to show percentage drops per weekend, so this will be a minor sleeper hit, at least.
7. Hitman: Agent 47 - $3,850,000 - $15,271,000 - 2nd Weekend
Flopping as expected. I totally didn't see that coming.
8. The Gift - $3,134,000 - $35,960,000 - 4th Weekend
This is having extremely small drops, which means it's creating a small fanbase.
9. Jurassic World - $3,120,000 - $643,088,000 - 12th Weekend
This is having a small comeback thanks to it hitting IMAX theaters again. It needs all it can get at this point if it's going to beat Star Wars for #1 grossing film in 2015.
10. Ant-Man - $3,054,000 - $169,187,000 - 7th Weekend
Marvel never flops, do they?
