I just saw the ad for it and that was what I got from it: something like "Do YOU dare open.... The Gift???"

Weekend of August 21-23, 2015

1. Straight Outta Compton - $26,364,020 - $111,087,490 - 2nd Weekend

I honestly just don't see the appeal in this. Hip Hop has never really been my thing, but still. How are this many people interested in a nearly thirty year old rap group? Just curious.

2. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $11,451,746 - $157,514,785 - 4th Weekend

Still trucking along nicely, but most likely won't be able to beat it's predecessor, Ghost Protocol.

3. Sinister 2 - $10,542,116 - $10,542,116 - 1st Weekend

Don't know anything about this other than that it's some horror sequel to another horror movie I've never heard of. Eh.

4. Hitman: Agent 47 - $8,326,530 - $8,326,530 - 1st Weekend

The previous adaptation did horribly at the box office, so I'm not sure why they felt the need to reboot this. Hollywood needs to accept the fact that video game adaptations just don't sell, especially when it's a game franchise that hasn't had any relevance in nearly a decade.

5. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $7,317,374 - $26,534,214 - 2nd Weekend

I've been hearing more good things about this, so it might just become the sleeper hit of the summer.

6. American Ultra - $5,454,284 - $5,454,284 - 1st Weekend

Have no clue what this is about, and judging from it's poor debut, I'm guessing most Americans didn't, either.

7. The Gift - $4,282,360 - $31,035,523 - 3rd Weekend

Not bad for a horror film.

8. Ant-Man - $4,055,465 - $164,491,835 - 6th Weekend

Proof that Marvel isn't sinking anytime soon financially.

9. Minions - $3,828,720 - $320,084,045 - 7th Weekend

On one hand, I'm not surprised that this is a hit with families, but on the other hand, I'm surprised it's doing almost as good as Despicable Me 2.

10. Fantastic Four - $3,733,632 - $49,708,994 - 3rd Weekend

Almost out of the Top 10 on it's third weekend, and only $50 million? Hopefully the rights refer back to Marvel after this and they can set this franchise straight. But then again, it will be the second reboot right alongside Spider-Man, and who even cares at that point?

As far as Compton goes, they're one of the biggest names of the genre and you don't necessarily have to be a fan of them to like the movie. I mean, Walk the Line is far better than most of Cash's music.

I'd be interested to see how Sinister 2 turned out, I thought that the original flubbed a little on the premise.

I thought Sinister 1 sucked balls.

The sheer ignorance that TC continues to display towards Straight Outta Compton is really steering me away from this thread and TC in general. Like seriously shut the **** up, you have no damn clue what you're talking about.

The first is one of the my favorite horror films of all-time.

Sinister 2 on the other hand......gets like a 3/10 from me. I was extremely disappointed
