roxy, the analogy wasn't mine. im white and should have thought of my own, my bad. regardless, presentation isn't identity and a person's identity is theirs to define, no one has the right to invalidate that by saying they're not who they say they are based on something as benign as their clothing. not that it matters but prolly 90% of my clothes are labeled as womens or unisex. if one of your female coworkers came to work dressed like a man might would you start calling them he if they still identify as female? ****ing absurd. I find being associated with males insulting, I dislike cis males and have every right to. and it's not the word 'he' that's insulting, it's the act of misgendering someone and stripping them of who they want to be. and not that it's anyones ****ing business but I am taking the steps. being homeless is a bit of a barrier but even if someone's not yet taking hrts or deciding not to at all, a person's gender is who they want to be understood as.
