War, friendship, betrayal... pretty simple but good stuff to base a memorable story around. Luca Blight was such an evil bastard!
Having your own castle and then travelling around to find all 108 companions was great. So many options for customizing your team! If I was making a JRPG, I'd rip that off in a heartbeat. Everyone playing those games had their own favorite team.
I would have loved to have more tactical battles. Suikoden Tactics was sadly kind of poo.
Oh and one more thing. I didn't shed any tears for Aeris in FF7, but
kicking the bucket in Suikoden II ruined my day.
