For all we know, if they had stayed together, we may very well have seen a substantial decrease in the quality of their music in any subsequent albums.
IMO, things worked out for the best.
On a personal level, I'm impressed that the Stones could stay together this long and not hate each others guts. But people need to face the hard truth--the Stones are only a skeleton of their former greatness.

yeah, but does the fact that they're not making great music anymore diminish the quality af their music from years ago?
