exactly, the situation has been like this for the past, what, 60, 70, 80 years? and neither side is any closer to coming to a conclusion. If anything, my opinion is that they came closest to reaching a "happy" middle right when the jews first declared statehood. Of course, after the war of independance, the situation has become so volatile and muddled that it's virtually impossible to determine who has more of a claim to the land. Of course the obvious solution would be to split it, but there's such a long history in the area that now, no matter how the country were split, both sides would lose areas that they desperately want to hang on to. funny thing, we havent even BEGUN to touch on the religious motives from either side for keeping territory.
