My wife and I considered home schooling our children, but we were aware of the social stigma:

Which does happen to be the case, a lot. In my experience, though, home schooled kids have belonged to religious military families and it's been an opportunity for their parents to raise them in an isolated environment to construct their historical, moral, and political narratives for them.
Whereas.... I think homeschooling can be done in a way that includes integration with society and free-thinking, and being educated in mathematics, physics, and neuroscience (and my wife being educated in biology) I think we could provide a good curriculum.
BUT.. it's a lot of ****ing work and we wouldn't be able to do it while holding jobs and it's nice to get a break from being a full time parent. So public school it is! Yay free child care!
