There used to be an old series called
The Virginian, and it's pretty much steeped in the culture of the old West. Isn't the Shenendoah Valley there? Still, you live there so I won't pretend to know more about it than you.

Oh I agree with you here. I can't stand Wayne. Never thought he was a good actor anyway and the roles he plays are far too (forgive the pun) black and white. Wasn't it him who branded High Noon as "unAmerican" because of its subject matter, and yet it's one of the classic westerns? No, **** Wayne: Gary Cooper, he's your man. And Eastwood of course. Lee Marvin, too. These are the guys you watch.
