Because there's a legit conservative base in America that won't be swayed by liberalism. And just look at the blacks and latinos who vote democrat. Aside from the race issues that divide them from the Republican party, what exactly do they have in common with the Democrats? They're religious, culturally conservative, and in general have more in common with the working class white right. If all those people were white they'd be staunchly Republican without a doubt. Conservatism simply is a going ideology in America and should not be ignored simply because it's not trendy with trendy whites. Give the Republican party time to wise up and drop the race politics and they'll be hot with the working class in general regardless of race if the Democrats don't wise up to working class needs. And if both parties do then the Republicans will still speak more to lower class minority sensibilities more than the Democrats do.
You simply can't expect to ignore conservatism.
