How does herd immunity protect against simultaneous outbreaks of different strains none of which were actually vaccinated for? I know youre all gungho about vaccines, but I'd expect you to understand the science behind this. It's pretty widely accepted that flu vaccines are not that effective, and they are constantly working to keep up with the viruses evolution.
The herd immunity thing is good at protecting against 3-4 strains.. out of 100+.
Edit: The CDC even reported that the vaccine this year was not effective against the most prevalent strain.. soo?
