The only thing I know about Earthling is that the cover is a bit ugly and that it's got electronic beats.
I've listened to less than a third or a quarter of Bowie's albums, so there's going to be a lot of surprises along the way. The 80's, 90's and post 2000 especially. People usually just tell you to listen to the oldies, like with any other artist who's been around for so long.
