My dad works in a pawn shop in San Antonio and he was closing up shop the other night and some black dude tweaking out pulled a gun on him and told him to give him all the money he had. My dad, only having a dollar or two in his pocket, told him he couldn't do anything for him and basically talked him down. They ended up shaking hands and my dad dealt with it like a man and didn't get himself killed. I don't know if this is an argument against guns since diplomacy works in a lot of different cases, but suffice to say my dad's still pretty shaken by it and is looking into getting a nice gun at the shop he works at.
