The existence of something like this actually underscores my point. To pick an easily recognizable face out of the crowd of small faces there, why would I care how many unique words MF Doom uses? His apparently large vocabulary enables him to write lyrics that are definitely better than average, but that’s not why I’m listening. I’m listening because he makes great music. He could rap random syllables over some of his amazingly produced tracks and I’d still want to listen. Give some of his lyrics to ICP and have them rap over their music and I’d have no interest.
