He could rap random syllables over some of his amazingly produced tracks and I’d still want to listen. Give some of his lyrics to ICP and have them rap over their music and I’d have no interest.

Don't nobody but cretins listen to ICP for intelligent, accomplished lyrics.

Nothing like getting "I'm Always Quick To Tell You When My Nuts Itch" tattoo'd in script on your arm. That's some deep ****.

That's all I have to say on that subject, I'll be dropping it for good now
You apparently didn't realise the opening shot was a lighthearted jab at the kind of lyrics you find in hip-hop, but don't tell me that what I said isn't true. It certainly may not be true of ALL hip-hop, and I've not listened to enough to be able to make an informed judgement, but it's clearly the perception outside of the genre, just as "noodling", long solos, multi-part suites and songs about dragons and elves is the general mainstream perception of prog. That impression is not wrong, but there's so much more to prog than that. Similarly, there is, I'm sure, much more to hip-hop than what I wrote, but this is the image it projects. Not my fault it we pick up what they're putting out.

Hey! I'm not racist. I saw a black guy on the street once. Well, actually it was just someone with a really good tan...

Agree with Janz anyway.

I agree fully. I'll probably vote 2 or 3.

I certainly hate hip-hop a lot less now than I did a few years ago. Having listened to it, there's definitely some major league excellent music there, and I have the utmost respect for people who can rap. It's such an art, it leaves me breathless. But let's not pretend the bad stuff is confined to a few minor artists or a small percentage. Maybe it's only commercial, but the stuff I reviewed over the last year or two had a very large slice of that "kill yo bitches don't touch my hos" all through it. It didn't by any means ruin the music for me, but I probably would have enjoyed it just as much without it.

Oh, and Batty? Sorry to break the news to ya buddy, but you ain't black. I know you want to be, but you ain't, son.
