Recognizing I live in a society with others and acting as a steward for their well being and my own, educating others and promoting skepticism, doing the best I can to make a positive influence on the local environment, voting with my buying power, avoiding complacency.. all these things when done by millions create positive change over time.

I'm all ears if you have a better idea.. Pretty confident none of you do though and would rather just tell me I'm wrong and play the "woe is me" card.
