Out of all the possible matchups for his UFC debut they give him Robbie Lawler? That's probably the worst stylistic match up for him...Robbie has good takedown defense and hits like a truck it also feels like a wasted opportunity people have wanted to see GSP vs Askren for years to find out who's really the best welterweight and instead he gets Robbie...don't get me wrong that's still a good fight but Askren and GSP are now in the same organization at some point that fight needs to happen.

GSP is retired . . . again . . .
A prime GSP would wreck Askren. I'm not sure what shape he's currently in. He did come off the shelf after a 4 year layoff and win a world championship last year.

Probably. Matt hughes was an amazing welterweight, but he peaked when MMA was still fairly young. And Askren is still in the running, but he needs some more wins against legit competition
