That
Lonnie Liston Smith album got a lot of play during my school years.
Another album that got played until worn out was
Kulu Sé Mama - one of
those albums of which I could, and incessantly did, sing the lyrics to the title
tune as well finding myself playing drums with the whole album a lot of the
time beginning when I was about 12. I even had a classmate that used to
borrow the album from me because he got so drawn to it (he's also the guy
who never returned my original issue of
The Andromeda Strain soundtrack,
but that's another story). This
Coltrane and many others from that time of
personal influence still easily holding up after all these years.
