I dare say it's not the lack of "drugs" that makes John Wilkes Both less humorous. I do declare back in John Wilkes Both's day they didn't have potent "drugs" they have today. However what they use to do was mix turpentine to their bootleg liquor. It's the lack of toxic spirits that is making John Wilkes Both less funny.
