I'm saying when you can't process your emotions in a healthy way, you keep having to add modifiers to deal with those emotions, and then end result of that contortion is arriving at some pretty weird destinations.

Most nu-metal sucks today because we both had to stop rage-screaming as the means of dealing with problems, as well as the technological advance that allowed smaller niches to gain a foothold, and therefore allow the market to decide, not a "give 'em what they want" C-Suite at the record companies.

To be reductive, Nu-Metal sucks because 9/11 and iPhones.
