All Young Birds
Can you see
That little bird far from home?
On a tree
That gives it rest and gives it love?
Can you hear
That lonely bird’s lovely song?
If you can
Then oh please sing along!
Now,
Who would ever drop a dime
For that bird’s pleading cry?
All Young Birds need to fly
Above our heads, up in the sky!
Now,
Nothing ever satisfies
All the Young and eager minds
And yet they are forced to choose
No matter what — they’ll always lose
Why can’t people understand
That little Birds need to learn?
Why can’t people understand
That little Birds need to learn?
Can you see
That little bird far from home?
On a tree
That gives it rest and gives it love?
Can you hear
That lonely bird’s lovely song?
If you can
Then oh please sing along!
Now,
No one ever gets the grief
That, oh so many mothers feel
When their Children go to sleep
On the streets
Why can’t people understand
That little Birds need to learn?
Why can’t people understand
That little Birds need to learn?
Can you see
That little bird far from home?
On a tree
That gives it rest and gives it love?
Can you hear
That lonely bird’s lovely song?
If you can
Then oh please sing along!
