My feeling on the Black Album has always been that it's Metallica for normies. It's obviously a great album, but it's not the album that makes people fans. And I think most fans hate Nothing Else Matters.

I have to disagree, The Black Album was the first Metallica album I listened to and is the reason I’m a fan of their other stuff. Do most people actually hate Nothing Else Matters? That’s not how I have perceived it but to be fair I don’t know many Metallica fans.
