Miyama played with
Mingus in the early 70s, you'll find it that it actually falls between
Maynard's '70s band and
Woody's '60s one (he's even named his band after
Herman's band).
So, basically, it'll be neither bop nor fusion, but more modern big band arrangements. Think
Chase too.
