I'm not exactly playing by Spotify's rules though...I just listen to it in a web browser, with uBlock Origin running - Spotify gets none of my money, and I don't get any of their ads. A pretty good deal.

Okay I'm not going to go writing the title or artist name - you know who I'm talking about.

Album began and my heart sank. This is jazz isn't it? Oh yes it is. And my heart remained in my shoes for the next forty minutes or however long this runs for. The final twenty-one-minute track almost did for me. Sorry Marie, but jazz is one of my all-time turn-offs and especially when it's attended by so much screeching horn. Not mad about the piano either, though in the last track there were some nice relaxed passages. Overall though, an ordeal for me to get through. I'm sure he/they is/are great at what he/they do, and probably well respected in their genre, and I've no wish to insult anyone, but this was not for me.

Rating: 4/10
Sorry.

Is it jazz in general that's a turn off or just jazz fusion?

That's fair Trolls, don't worry. I think of it as a pretty jazz-averse-friendly jazz album but no music is for everyone of course

You would've thought that the instrumentation was more than a hint.

I like classic jazz (Hard bop actually) as well as some fusion. I plan on listening to it tomorrow.

Jazz of any stripe, but particularly free or avant-garde; I can sometimes take fusion but damn do I hate those screaming horns!

Hopefully I'll be able to do better justice to your next album. I'm sure I'll be in the minority here anyway.

Yeah, if I had looked but I didn't really.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone know if it's possible to stop ****ing YouTube minimising and colonising the right-hand bottom corner of my screen when I go off the page? It's very annoying to have it sitting there, blocking whatever I want to read or write, and closing it just stops the entire playback. Any setting where I can tell it not to minimise? Seems only to have been happening in the last few days for me, which is odd. Maybe I just always stayed on the page before. Anyway, if anyone knows how to kill this it would be great.

Even tho Miyama played with Mingus in the early 70s, you'll find it that it actually falls between
Maynard's '70s band and Woody's '60s one (he's even named his band after Herman's band).
So, basically, it'll be neither bop nor fusion, but more modern big band arrangements. Think Chase too.

Might be okay then. Chase is pretty cool. If it's more like smooth jazz though, probably not so much.
