Since the beginning, the liner notes of every REM album listed Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe as the writers. When he left, the band remained, but wasn't the same. It would have been the same had Rush continued on without Peart. I'm sure they would still have been good, but there would be something missing.
Robert was the constant in an ever changing lineup. He's outlasted many of his peers.
I own Up, Reveal and Accelerate. I like each one of them.
