The first time I went to Rome, before the government cleared out most of the gypsies, a bunch came up to my family (12 of us) and just started circling us asking for money, and when my uncle got out his wallet to give some Lira, they tried to snatch all the money in his wallet and run. He caught her hand though, stared at her, let her go, and they all ran.
