True but then only 4 or 5 bands from any one movement go on to make much of a mainstream impact anyway. And the fact you named 4 bands not including the White Stripes that did get regular play suggests to me they did change the musical landscape.

Get Born came out in late 2003, Maps wasn't released as a single until early 04, Tyrannosaurus Hives came out mid-04, and Highly Evolved came out in 2002. I'd say that's a pretty weird movement, what with all the big bands in it exploding at different times. I'm also willing to bet Linkin Park made more cash than all those bands put together seeing as they released, I think, an equal amount of big hits as all those bands big hits combined.
