strap me to the anchor, and throw it in the sea

to my sons and daughters, raise them well for me

tie me to the lashing post, and cover up my mouth

you can lay me in the water, you can let my corpse drift south

if it's the last thing that I ever do

I will come back and talk to you, I will have made room

all of us will die someday; i am dying soon.
