2pac represented a new style, but most of his "legendary" status comes from his death, not his "poetic" lyrics. And who do you know who shares the same status as tupac? Biggie comes close, but no one really is as popular.

You seem to just throwing generalizations everywhere, its like me saying aesop rock sucks because his music isn't good...

Tupac may not hold up well in terms of production and lyrics as some more recent artists, but it unfair to compare a man who has been dead over a decade to those guys making music now.
He's not very good, but you can't judge him cuz' he's old! Good point about his death. But that's not really significant. I mean he just raps in a monotone, no tonal changes, nothing. Same with his flow.
