I have enjoyed this Prog branch of this forum, but have been very surprised to see the lack of talk about Porcupine Tree. In my opinion, there are two reasons why Porcupine Tree needs a discussion of their own.
First: GAVIN HARRISON! Quite possibly the greatest drummer of our generation, and definitely one of the best of all time. Not only a member of Porcupine Tree, but recently invited to become part of the well oiled machine known as KING CRIMSON. Robert Fripp is VERY selective... that should be enough proof of this guy's talent.
Second (and MOST important): STEVEN WILSON. Not only the brainchild of Porcupine Tree, but for the first few albums, the principal (if not only) member of the project. Not only is he responsible for this great band, but he also carries on simultaneous careers with NO-MAN, BLACKFIELD, BASS COMMUNION, IEM and assorted "solo" things. He is one of the most talented and artistic musicians out there, and needs to be recognized!
So, Porcupine Tree fans... let's unite, and spread the great word...
