Here is my take. If you are talking COMMERCIAL Country music, it is one of my LEAST favorite forms of music. As a matter of fact, apart from Rap, it IS the worst. I don't blame the artists... I blame the Nashville music machine. IF the artists had any creativity to begin with, it was probably removed by the record executives. Most Country artists are not allowed to sing their own songs, and that would be dependent on them even being able to write a song to start with.

Most Country singers are just good looking people who can strum a few guitar chords, sing in the stereotypical voice, and fit a certain mold.

Now, if you are talking Alt. Country or Bluegrass, I'm on board. Bluegrass players are some of the finest musicians on the planet. Alt. Country is essentially a good Folk singer/songwriter, who has a Country twinge, usually taken from the early days of Country. That music has heart. It has passion. It is genuinely the artform of the ARTIST, and not someone pulling his/her strings.

Okay, that's enough from my soap box.
