Roger published a diary for Slate magazine when Mission of Burma reunited and started touring again a few years back. It's a fairly entertaining read and gives you a good idea of Roger's ideas about music, his radical political perspective and his approach to life in general. Here's a link to
Roger Miller's diary
Roger has studied classical music composition at CalArts and his first instrument is really piano. I've heard him play Bartok and Satie pieces during his stints as a solo artist and during his short stint with the Birdsongs of the Mesozoic. There's still probably some his solo albums from the Eighties and Nineties floating around in cyberspace somewhere in either digital or cd form.
