Well.

I do hate it when gamers rip on designers over stuff they don't even know about. I try not to be that way, sorry if I come off like that sometimes.

I see way too many reviews that are just completely souless and only talk about things from the technical side, and when a lot of gamers try to talk about things like they're a game developer, they just make themselves look stupid.

And the way they try to objectify some things is obnoxious, like when people say controls are bad, it's objectively bad. Not always the case, it might just be because you suck at a game, someone else might not have the same problems figuring stuff out like you do.

I've seen reviews saying that even the smoothest games have bad controls. I hate that, just because you're too retarded to get the hang of controls for a game that nobody else has a problem with dosen't mean the developers made a mistake, they just didn't have your retarded ass in mind.

People need to realise the difference between bad games and games that are just not for you, I can't stress that enough. I know I talk sh*t about stuff, but that's just me being a douche. I acknowledge that Halo and all those franchises are doing something right to be as successful as they are.

Different gamers are made for different kinda markets, and while I'm not a fan of FPS games, that's why I don't play them or wont be doing reviews of them any time soon. So it pains me to see people try to review games that are part of a genre they already have no interest in and wasn't intended for them to begin with.

I'm a bit sensitive about old games, so I hate it when people review old games with no respect for that era at all. Every time I see stuff like "the graphics are bad but it's Genesis game so of course it's bad" I want to cut that person's nuts off and feed it to a racoon.

Anyway, is it just me, or is it apparent that there are no actual video game critics? I mean, every video game reviewer dosen't actually attempt to be a critic, they all do it in the name of consumer advice, but they still have their own biased opinions which make their attempts at consumer advice totally worthless. And that's the main reason all big gaming sites fail, they strive for objectivity and fail.

Being a critic means you're not trying to be objective at all. That just boils down to expressing your opinions in a meaningful and insightful way. I would like to see some people actually take a whack at giving an actual review of a game. And going into greater detail than just "the story is bad, the music is bad", because just about every video game review is that idiotic in it's vagueness, even the so called professional ones.

And in that sense, no video game reviews I come across are really that helpful.
