Today was a very nice Solstice. After finishing up grading at home, I took my child to work with me and submitted grades for students, while my child played games on the office computer. I'm glad the semester is over and there is a break.
Then we went sledding on lovely hills where I sledded as a child. I noticed I have more "floaters" in my eyes...they really show up against the white snow and white sky. That was disturbing, but I was happy to be alive sledding down a hill with my child. When I was his age on those hills, I never imagined being there with my own child years later.
Finally, we put together a gingerbread house (from a kit). We haven't done a lot of activities together recently due to school/work, so it was nice to have a day where we spent time together doing fun activities.
