Well, I feel quite certain about my beliefs and when I'm angered in discussions about them, I've never felt it was because of my own insecurities. There are other feelings there that I can identify, such as anger at people's misunderstanding or blatant ignorance.
I tend to think that's what I'm expressing when I get angry. If I get angry because of insecurities regarding what I believe, well - then that's buried deepier than the concious me is aware of.
