6 euro a pint?! That's not right, what pubs did you go into? It's usually around 4.50 a pint in my town, and that's still a bit pricey.
Yeah the further west you go in ireland the nicer it gets, especially Galway, Clare and Kerry.
The east coast is great if you love admiring boring housing estates and industrial estates.
