Welll, they were certainly going for something dark. Have you listened to the rest of their discography? Though Doomsdayer's Holiday seems to be the band's pivotal peak, their earlier albums birthed an even greater appreciation for Doomsdayer's, in my opinion. There's something ... Almost necessary about experiencing the band in its entirety if you're into one album that much. Some of the stuff, like mojopinuk said in the earlier posts, drown out to become background music, but I find this true only when I put it on so that it becomes background music. There have been plenty of times I've put them on to really listen to them and it's brilliant ****. Even when listening to an album or song of Grails' for the first time, a sense of familiarity sinks in and maybe it's about comfort of feeling something familiar. Whatever it is, I'm there.
