My business's landlord is a... Hm.. I was going to think of something colorful to call him, but then remembered that this forum has a swear filter.

So we've been in the same location for going on 27 years now. We've never missed a rent payment, not so much as even been late. NOT A SINGLE MONTH IN 27 YEARS, HAS THE RENT BEEN LATE. Our 5 year lease is up, and we're now in a position where we're forced to question our viability as a company. In doing so, we must also question where we will be located. We would love to stay in the current location, if we were able to go to a month-to-month lease set-up. Our landlord wants to raise our (ALREADY RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED) rent to 1.5 times our current rate, and we already pay more than $300 more per month than similar sized units on the same street. We've been good tenants for 27 years and he can't draft a month-to-month lease for us?
